Call for Submissions

The seventh annual Six Women Playwriting Festival will be held the weekends of:
April 11
April 18
April 25

 

The theme of this year’s festival is
PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES,
The Comings and Goings of Life

 

Submission Deadline: Friday, October 31, 2012

 


Guidelines

Open to women 16 years or older; limited to one play per playwright.

 

Your play must be unpublished and not previously professionally produced. Previously submitted plays will not be accepted and will not be returned or receive a response. We are unable to accept electronic submissions. No script will be returned. Entries postmarked after the above deadline will not be accepted.

 

Your play must follow the above theme and appropriate for our community and theatre. The reading committee and producing theatre are seeking scripts with the potential for “dynamic staging of richly established characters in original dramatic and comedic relationships.” Please no “television sitcom situations” or “talking heads.”

 

Manuscript

Typed on standard paper size
Bound with one staple
Maximum ten pages, double spaced, numbered pages
Submit three (3) copies of the script with title only
Include one unbound sheet that includes name, address, phone, email, address, and a sixty-word bio.

We are unable to accept electronic submissions.

 

 

Awards

$100 to each winning playwright
$100 stipend to those playwrights attending the April 18-21 Festival

 

Winner Notification

The six winning playwrights will be notified by February 28, 2013
